Tricia Ralph, Information and Privacy Commissioner for Nova Scotia
Tricia Ralph was appointed as the Information and Privacy Commissioner (formerly known as the "Review Officer") effective March 1, 2020. Tricia has over 10 years of experience in the access and privacy field. She started in 2010 working as a Legal Advisor for the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) Department of Education as an administrator of the Access to Information and Privacy Act.
In 2012, she moved to the GNWT Department of Justice where she began giving legal advice on access and privacy issues to all government departments.
In 2019, she moved to the oversight side when she began working for the Information and Privacy Commissioner of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
This varied experience has given Tricia a unique perspective and understanding of freedom of information and protection of privacy laws.
